The Sandstone Donkey Team

Donkeys, also called burros and asses, are found throughout the world. They are members of the Equidae family, which also includes horses and zebras. Over the last ten years we have assembled a significant team of donkeys at Sandstone, so much so that we are now effectively a donkey sanctuary. Under the leadership of our Livestock and Equine Manager, Bianca Van Rooyen, we have been training these animals with our donkey carts and reached a milestone recently with 24 donkeys pulling the cart!
