Ladybrand Hospice visits Sandstone.

Ladybrand Hospice has been in existence for 22 years and has gone from strength to strength in that time. The hospice has an Early Child Development (ECD) Centre for children who are mainly from the patients of the hospice. They are fetched from home each day and given breakfast, lunch and a snack before being returned home. At the end of term they are also given a Hygiene pack of toiletries such as a toothbrush and  toothpaste.

There are also 137 Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) supported by the Hospice through various support groups. The Hospice itself has 143 patients. The Ladybrand Hospice isalso very involved with the local community of Ladybrand and events that take place there.

On Wednesday August 9th a group of 100 children from the groups supported by the  Hospice visited Sandstone for a tour of the Heritage collection, donkey cart rides and a train ride behind NGG16A locomotive number 155, “Rose”. This was followed by a wonderful lunch provided by Sandstone. As you can see from our photo gallery everyone had a great time!
