Another very average day Flugel
4th October 2007
An average day it certainly was too. Scraping the bottom of the barrel we were. Anyway, let's see what we came up with in the finish...................
Roger is extending a tube to carry underground wiring for the new level crossing. A sleeve over the two ends of the tube and some really hot glue. Works a treat.

On the other side, Graham is stripping a Rimu and Totara (I think) stair case, to recycle the timber

School holidays? How did you guess. Some of the juniors volunteered to renew the deck on the flat trolley and then make and fit new lifting handles. No, I'm not suggesting Colin is a Junior. :-)

Further away still, I found the hut windows open, but no one inside. More on this later.

Here's something you don't see much of. The Diesel Traction Groups Dg. (799 I think.) They are beavering away to get it to mainline standard.

Splitting a frozen nut from a bearing mounting bolt the hard way. With a chisel.

You have to hand it to Max. He can nail anyone to give him a hand and who could blame him. Here he has a Junior member helping. Can't see who it is, but thanks!

Back to the hut. Bob the builder working on the wardrobe I think.

A Tyers tablet machine. You either know what it is or you don't. Have you seen inside one?................

Are we any the wiser? Picture's still a bit too dark. Sorry.

Remember we spoke of numbering for carriage componentry? Here's a part of a window opening. Yes, car 222, number 18 piece. Not only but also............

Hard to read, but we think it is J. Jolly. 15/5/28. (underneath) Hillside. (Dunedin Workshops.)
From behind a truck on the way home...........................

Life is not fair, get used to it. Ain't that a fact! Cheers, 'K'.
