WN8 - My flagging memory Flugel - by Kerry Young

27th  October 2006

Sorry to bother you again, but last evening was a bit rushed to say the least and I forgot to add a couple of things of interest sent in by friends with regard to our news letter.

Firstly from my friend Pat Corkery who like me, is stuck with producing an official newsletter for his society. (In my case that production had nothing to do with Flugel.) Pat had noticed that with the forthcoming local body elections, our incumbent Mayor (Garry Moore) will not be standing again. With this in mind, Pat therefore asked if 'Sir Colin' would stand. Good idea I thought, so popped the question at an opportune moment. Well Pat, (and everyone else) I have to tell you that the offer was declined. How sad indeed. Were Sir Colin to become Mayor, we could have looked forward to an interesting civic term from him indeed!

(The mind boggles when you consider the side influences of all his friends in our society!) So Pat, I'm sorry but the answer is a very firm no thanks).
Further to my offers for captions for Fs 12 & 13;

From Pete Soundy; 'Hi 12. Do you have a spare cab?'

From Andy Selfe; (The guy who likes to keep and eye on Castle Rock)

"Do you come here often?" "Only in the mating season".

Are there any more offers out there? Share your innermost thoughts with us. A smile always brightens the day.

Seems a shame to leave you without a picture so here's one from quite some time ago................

This was taken during training in the signal box. Our instructor is well known by all. That's Jolly Roger on the right.

Cheers, 'K'.
