Despite threats of a fuel crisis and rising prices Sandstone experienced large visitor numbers for its 2026 Easter Cosmos Festival. Running from Thursday April 2nd to Sunday April 5th visitors enjoyed steam train rides, military vehicle rides and demonstrations plus a vast array of vintage machinery parades. Sandstone Oxen and Donkeys Also played their part and the whole event was surrounded by vast fields of Cosmos, one of the best displays for many years. Classic Collection brought an amazing array of vintage aircraft, such as Tiger Moths and Chipmunks, and gave many visitors a very different experience of flight from jet power to Cape Town!
Numerous food and drink vendors kept the visitors replenished with many varieties for all tastes.
