Wheat planting has commenced
Notwithstanding the extensive flooding we still have some areas which we are able to plant. Although Sandstone typically plants in the region of 2,000 ha of wheat per annum we have been reduced to about 500 ha this year.
Of course the advantage is that lands that might have been in the planning schedule are now going to be left fallow, which always provides for extra dividends in the future. Because of the smaller area we are not using contractors and are doing the job in-house.
We will report progress as the crop progresses.
