A short note to thank you for the splendid week on the farm, The engines were clean and polished, they looked terrific, the cosmos was spectacular the timing was spot on as far the flowers are concerned, I had a great time, met old friends and made plenty new ones, everything was on time and seamed to run smoothly, in my opinion the best event ever.
I send a few pictures to Joanne West, I also loaded some on my flicr page which can be viewed at this link https://www.flickr.com/photos/alfav8/sets/72157644098155905/
Best regards,
Hannes

As it is happening...
There is so much happening that we only have time to just give our Internet visitors a glimpse of the sights and sounds. We will add photographs in increasing numbers throughout the week and beyond.

The pictures below show the work being done to nurture our runway so that it is in good order for Tiger Moths, Harvard's, and other visitors which we hope to see on the farm at Stars of Sandstone 2014.

Foundations for small sandstone cottages
Work is underway to construct four small sandstone cottages which will be available to guests at Sandstone on a self-catering basis.
We expect to have these buildings completed by early 2014.

Hello over there,
I was on the Geoff Cooke visit to Sandstone May 2013, and want to thank you for an awesome time in beautiful surroundings. I have tried to describe my visit and what you have collected and built there as a heritage trust and working equipment and farm to my friends, and they have a hard time comprehending it all! The amount of activity going on was phenominal. The only stressful part of the week was deciding in which direction to point the camera next! Also the staff and volunteers, and indeed local people I met were all extremely friendly and hospitable and an example of how an ideal world should coexist. The social aspect of course is a big part of a trip like this and I came away with a very happy feeling. I would also like to thank again your head of kitchen staff for taking me into Ficksburg to deal with a banking issue, and we had some good socialising on the way which I really enjoyed.
Attached are a few examples of the vast collection of wonderful photos I have.
Sandstone's DVD of their 2013 Stars of Sandstone event is now out.
