Another day at the factory Flugel
7 February 2008
A few pictures less this week.......................
I arrived up late after an appointment, to find last weeks faulty motor being dismantled to recover the new bearings we had fitted. Mike Webb on speed wrench.
Bob the builder reducing the size of the end of a new signal post.
Beside road eight is a small stream. Or rather it was. The present drought has reduced it to this.
From road eight, we took the pie cart to the very far end of the line. Here they are going to add reinforcing to the 'tie-off' beam for the overhead catenary.
With most of the load off the catenary, the wires have been slid across the beam to allow welding of the stiffeners.
While down here, I took this shot to show the building that obscures the clear view down the line as shown in an earlier edition. A monstrosity. It gets taller yet I believe.
On the way back, We see Roger, Mike and Bert deep in discussion.
Just before the pie cart is put away, I snapped this to show that we found a home for the railcar that was left outside. The carriage is further back still.
The beginnings of the roof over the containers. Danny and Roger hard at it. A new look for Castle Rock.
A last look at the drought. The Port Hills are going from brown to black.
Now I must go and make my own evening meal. One of the multitude of reasons why I am stressed without my lifetime companion. 'K'.
