Short as possible Flugel

25th October 2007

Firstly, I apologise in advance for the file size of this issue, but I'll just have to beg your forgiveness.

In case the grapevine hasn't reached you yet, I am somewhat incapacitated for mobility for a while. I am having difficulty sitting at this machine, hence the subject line.

Flugel will be intermittent for some time to come, relying on the goodwill of readers to supply material. For this issue, I have pictures from Ian McDonald, of the railway society operations during Labour Weekend festivities. Ian was busy manning the stall below, but very kindly shot some pics for me from which we offer the following..............

A view of the stall located at the rear of Moorhouse Station. We also had the back-side door open to provide extra access (which worked well)

(This stall is the sales table for the Rail Museum Of New Zealand fundraising. 'K'.)

A yard full of activity!! Train pulled by W192 at the platform returning from Ferrymead Station, Heritage Train D140 heading through the middle on the way to Ferrymead Station, Eo & Ec waiting their turn and just a glimpse on the far right in the green is the 2 foot loco & train.

(Bad weather has prevented weedspraying. 'K'.)

2 foot loco

(With the advent of certification for the 2 foot line, they had their first operating weekend. Welcome aboard!  'K'.)

How make the platform look short. Ec7, 3 carriages and the Eo at the other end. Many people were requesting when they are going to be running again, they were quite a hit with the younger visitors.

Trolley rides for a gold coin donation. Jack is always on the scene and willing to his bit somewhere. Ew1806 also saw some time out of the shed and into the sun.

(This is the very same Jack Hurley you saw all spic and span in last weeks issue. Yes, it's the same guy!  'K'.)

(This impressive locomotive is nearer than you might think to being commissioned.  'K'.)

The impressive Ec7 glides smoothly into Moorhouse Station under the control of Dave Hansen.
