Chill wind Flugel
6th September 2007
A chill wind it certainly was too. Keep out of the wind and it wasn't all too bad, as there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Now let's see what we can dredge up from the depths today..................
Almost finished. L1939 stands outside while Bob the builder works on finishing details. We are told that if we are good, we may go for a ride later in the day.
What's it worth to show this picture of Jolly Roger with the vacuum cleaner, to his Wife?
Time has moved on and so shall we. We have all been good. The promised ride is upon us. Sir Colin checks for the 'Right Away' and we quietly move off.
At the signal box, Colin picks up the tablet for the run.

Past the new level crossing and Kodak Island comes into view. This of course is where you get all those pictures of the trains in progress with Castle Rock in the background.
The Tamaki Maori village is beginning to get an air of permanence about it.
After that long haul, everyone has to get out and stretch their legs.
All aboard again and we're off home. Man, that wagon rides like a dray!
Later back home and our presence is graced by none less than our highly esteemed society president. Bruce (Shalders) right, looks much too tidy to be a part of our mottley lot. Steve and Roger are setting up the latching mechanism (if you'd call it that) for the gate.
The workmans hut now has a picket fence. That's our Brian (Frost) doing the painting
Here's the plaque on the door of the hut.
Inside again and 'A222' is getting the dividers to make the carriage into three compartments.
On the way home I called past the new level crossing and can now show you the beginning of the planking across the tracks. Andy, Castle Rock is to the left somewhat.
That's another week gone already. My how time flies when you're having fun! Cheers, 'K'.
